And I dunno what sorta feedback you're hoping to hear from us schmucks. With the exception of the last podcast (which was real quiet, low-energy, just sleepy in general), I like what you guys are doing with this. 😡 Oh, and Liam's burning jadedness rant on Nintendo Switch's new online NES-game-thing was my favorite audio bit this episode. Otherwise, y'all keep being yourselves. KEEP UP DE FUN WORK.

The Dadsons have returned to form in this episode! Schweeeeeeeet.

If George is still having trouble advancing his HR in MHGen, he could just look up Monster Hunter Generations "key quests" and do those.
Also, the shoes-off-indoors thing is more of an Asian thing, not just a Japanese thing. Go to an ethnic Chinese or Vietnamese's house, chances are they'll ask you to remove your shoes at the door, or look at you to see if you're already aware. Yes, it's a cultural-manners deal, but if your local Yellow person is a culturally Westernized type (like me), they'll be more concerned with simple general cleanliness that outdoor shoes would ruin. (Unless they're in a rush to grab something they forgot, at which point they will make very ginger steps to and from the door.)

Would love to hear your take on Serial Experiments Lane.

Actually enjoyed this podcast a lot more than the two previous ones.

I think the 7/11 has to do with where you live in the country, George. Here in Virginia we have a 7/11 about as frequently as we have aStarbucks. When I was in college, I would walk there for 3am coffee when I was working on a paper or something

no deadfire? george, it's the sequel to the game you've praised probably the most of all the games on your channel, I was expecting some hype.

12:33: Yeah, I imagine in the Shinzo Abe biopic, we're going to see the before-and-after of Abe getting into his Mario costume for the Rio Olympics closing ceremony, shouting at his aides about how much he detests Mario and the degrading effect which fun cutesy video game culture has on the glory of Nippon. Walks off stage, flings the Mario cap at an aide, grumbles "This is why we need to revoke Article 9."

You guys described really well why I finished Indigo Prophecy. The beginning was SO interesting and cool that I kept playing, but I also really wanted to see the crazy stuff so I kept playing until the end.

Americans not taking their shoes off when they go into people's houses has always been the weirdest thing to me. Here in Canada that's something you don't even think about, of course you take your shoes off when you go indoors! Especially someone else's house. I mean otherwise your floors are gonna get extreeeemely dirty!

Not surprised you guys think Shinji is a bitch. Hopefully, you all can at least understand that a 14 year-old boy going through depression and everything else in the show should be cut some slack. :

Also, Liam, the statement from Nintendo specified "under the banner of Virtual Console," so there's a good chance they'll still be bringing old games back but with a new name.

I agree with Liam about the death of Virtual Console, I'm sad to see it go.
But you'd be shocked to know how many people are not just "okay" with a VC subscription service, but have been furiously demanding, for years, that Nintendo go this route.
Personally, I've just never seen the upside.

Was the Virtual Console not successful? I can't imagine sales for DS/Wii games was especially worthwhile, but I was hoping to see those releases continue alongside the SNES and N64 staples.

Sorry guys. No real feedback here. I like what you do and hope it doesnt change.
But i was listening to the podcast while i was going to sleep and had a dream i was on a road trip with you guys. But you just ignored me the whole time and kept talking about what was in this podcast. I also was pretty sure liam was still mad at me so i didn't try to talk. So i got a ride from some friends that picked me up in a town i often dream up but have never been to. So there is some feedback don't be so rude to the guest in the car with you guys. Also play superfight on the podcast.

I always kinda like the "story" of Monster Hunter games. There's just something about the overall mundanity to it that makes the world feel lived in. I guess that plays into the whole single player MMO aspect, but I like the idea that I'm just a dude who has a job to do rather than being the chosen one on whom the fate of the world rests.

George made a mistake by picking Generations over 4U. 4U runs at higher framerates, sports an entertaining story that lasts 30~60 hours (with usual grinding) and it's a more balanced and concise experience. Generations is just out of whack and the difficulty is decreased in favor of "awesome flashy features". Immersion and atmosphere is also part of the MonHun package and Generations didn't do it for me.

3U is my favorite, but 4U if it's on 3DS and also because there's more fluidity between combat animations in 4U as opposed to 3U.

I prefer a good ending. Bad endings leave a bad taste in my mouth, almost as if all the good stuff that came before it has now turned to sh$t. Also the end is what I remember the best when I recall a game from my memory.
Mass Effect 3, does that ring a bell?

Generations is mostly just "here, hunt monsters" for series veterans. There's not really story like there are in other games.

Ahhhh I don't know Liam, I feel like that the whole VC not coming back in it's past form is a bit… overblown? Like I'm sure as heck not stanning for Nintendo and I'm not trying to belittle people's opinions and feelings on it, but at this point it's too much to get worked up about it. If it's a legal reason you can get a 3DS or Wii U and buy them while the eShop there, if it's just a "I just want to play games on the go" then there are dozens of emulators to pick from that work on phones. If Nintendo wants to make it difficult for people to play these games then that's there issue not the consumers. Yeah it sucks for us who've already bought these games and would like to carry them over to other systems, but the ship has long sailed on that. The only company that seems to have put effort into backwards compatiblity is Microsoft.

Granted this doesn't excuse the lack luster lineup of only NES games. If they're patching them for online play then they're probably doing it in house and for whatever reason the in house team REFUSES to use outside knowledge when it comes to working their games and do it on their own terms. We've seen this multiple times like with the Wii or DS.
