Doesn't "feel" robust, this is not even a characterization about the device.. This is how you feel. Actual lightweight and flexing design is probably contributing to the resilience of the device against regular wear and the drops and beating..

Overpriced, Fisher Price cheap ass plastic, that will break after a small one time drop.
It’s thin and light but, has as much flex as 4 ply toilet paper.

    Drop test it!!

I love how this variable TDP thing leads to i5s in the same series performing better than i7s. Great job intel.

There's a lot of great options out there for $2K, no excuse for a laptop that expensive that feels like it's missing something. MacBook Pro 15, SurfaceBook 15, Dell XPS 15, and even the new XPS 13 2-in-1

This laptop should cost 1/3 of the current price. That would be a really good deal, but with this price all of its competitors are absolutely smashing this not even speaking of Xiaomi Mi Pro with 800 Euros price tag.

Hi Eber, thank you for review. Right now i am looking for good multimedia laptop with full sized keyboard with numpad, decent screen and what is the most important with good quality build in speaker. The only problem is, i need speakers build in on top , no bottom! As you mentioned the sound is just terrible. I searched a lot of different manufacturers and models, but 85% of all new laptop have speakers located on the bottom of chasis. Is there any laptop with 15.6'-17' IPS display with decent speakers on top, kaby lake R or coffee lake core i5-i7 cpu and at least nvidia 150 mx GPU? or should i rather choose something with nice screen and buy bluetooth speaker? I travel a lot and carry extra weight every time isn't good option for me. P.s: it doesn't have to be the lightest ultrabook in the world but i also don't want some 6 Kg Predator gaming monster. P.p.: Pls no overprized deprecated apple products.

Laptops these days are crazy confusing to the buyer… This is the upper price end of this Ultrabook class, over $2000. $1000 is a more reasonable category for Microsoft Surface, Thinkpad X1 , Dell XPS 13, Lenovo Yoga, HP Spectre and those other 2-in-1 are a much better choice.
I just got a Yoga 720 12.5" 1080 IPS, with i3-7100u, 128GB SSD, under 2.8 pounds, the same HD graphics 620 and slightly worse IO ports (two USB-C and 1 USB-A). For $499 at bestbuy. It also can fold backwards in half and supports a stylus and has a fingerprint reader but no SD card slot. Sadly the number and type of Ports is what sells people a lot. But really the internals and build of the machine are incredible for that price range. The next model down was using a Pentium 4415-U cpu and in a whole other class of "netbooks". They dont make the product lines easy to navigate.

To be honest, this makes Macbooks look like a good deal. If you are already going to be spending that much on a computer that is just for office, web browsing, and multi-media, then you might as well get an Apple for the amazing track pad people are always talking about.

The microsd slot is actually a decent choice considering that many ultrabooks tend to have the full-size cards stick out a bit from the frame. Not the biggest deal, but then if you want to easily expand storage and/or work back and forth from a camera, this isn't a terrible option, especially since a lot of sd cards sold today are microsds with full-size adapters for flexibility!

You could just get a Dell XPS, then you get amazing build quality and a good gpu, and it's not that much heavier.
