I think they are also implementing some kind of image recognition technology to catch a frame that is relevant to the video title to end the click-baity thumbnails that have nothing to do with the video. THIS I do agree with, but ONLY if we are allowed to ALSO pick a frame out the video for the thumbnail ourselves in case the YouTubeTech doesn't work properly.

PlanetSide is impossible to get in to. You'll just get reapeatedly wreaked by vets. After 50 hours I had only gotten killed by people my level 3 times

I'll take auto generated thumbnails one hundred percent of the time if it will forever eliminate whatever percentage of YT videos that use click bait for their videos.

Luke, your story was great. I have only dealt with EVGA support once myself (incidentally also an only ever support call), but they knocked it out of the park and I'd go back again with no qualms.

To quote Linus on the WAN show at time 39:20
"That's what you get for buying a 1030, you don't buy low end graphics cards"
It must be so good to be leet like Linus.

    RE 23:00 :
Hand crafted content will always be superior to auto generated stuff. some of the auto ones were not bad. but 50% of them being not bad doesn't mean they were good, they were just not trash. Its not just the "context" of what you are talking about as well, the hand made thumbnails focus attention where it should be by editing away the backgrounds where suitable exc. you dont get that with auto generated.

the regular gddr5 gt1030 is good if you hate buying used cards
its not the issue that its a cheap card its that there was literally branding something that should have been callled a 1020 or something as the 1030 as the ddr4 version literally had 1/2 the performance at the same price, and if you would actually benchmark it it would show
i myself understand and woudl never buy a new gpu because value is kinda garbage, i got my r9 280 at 90$ so really, yea. value does not favor the gt 1030 but as you can seem, there is plenty of risk involved in used purchases // my gtx 670 was missing a resistor when i got it, caused a cap to blow off of it, i noticed it too late// never buying used nvidia cards tbh at least not on ebay

Except that there are scenarios where the 1030 is THE best option, especially with inflated prices of GPU's. For me, it was $70 cheaper than a 1050, came low profile, and was perfect for my anemic 240w un-upgradable PSU. I was really happy what I got to. Played many games @ 60FPS if I kept the settings down on 1080p or 900p.

Even if this is incredibly specific, and It might be, I don't think it's ok to attack the consumers of this card. This is especially the case for those who are new to pc building and can't properly read spec sheets yet. They see benchmarks if the 1030, thats what they expected when they bought it.

Unfair on the 1030. Very good card for esports and 720p gaming and the used market is awful now. It’s under $100 and you’re talking 150-200 for anything decent from last gen.

I don't prefer the custom thumbnails even in your case and it's not like youtube are gonna let just three people have them and as most of them are cancer it would be nice to see them all go away.

    I think the math was off by a decimal place. 0.3% of 2mil or 0.003 * 2000000 = 6000.

it makes sense to me that youtube would want to find out what auto-generated thumbnails are better, even if they stay optional. for example people who upload alot of videos to youtube might not have time to make a nice thumbnail, and might benefit hugely from more effective auto-generated thumbnails.

GT 1030 is good for businesses running multiple monitors. Lemme tell ya, the Geforce 210 and 710 do not cut it anymore for 4 monitors smoothly. Also the price is nice.

That gaming experience your looking for that's similar to Savage, its called Arma. Though i think its cant get to 500 people without MAJOR FPS drops and what not, but everything you asked for is there in arma
